First time here. We sat outside on the patio with picturesque ferry landing view. Food was delicious, loved the whole roasted garlic. I'll definitely try it again!
Our reservation was for 5:30 on Saturday (party of 4). We waited about 10 minutes for our table to be ready. Once we were seated, it was quite awhile before our server came over to take our drink orders. There seemed to be long gaps between when our server came back to the table. The appetizer and meals came out fairly quickly after we finally were able to order but they may have been delivered by someone other than our server. No one came back to check on us during the meal either. It was almost like they didn’t care that we were there. We all enjoyed our meals, so no complaints regarding the food. I’m not sure if they were short staffed since there were quite a few empty tables around us but I also heard the hostess telling walk-ins that it was a 2-3 hour wait for a table. I had higher expectations.
Had a really nice 4-star dinner at Fornario in Coronado. We went on a Monday and the special menu was a nice touch with good options to choose from. The drink selection was solid and everything we tried was tasty. We enjoyed the appetizers and shared a pizza for dinner, which was very good and cooked well. The bar area was nice and had a comfortable vibe, making it a good spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, a solid place for dinner and drinks in Coronado.
This restaurant food and atmosphere was outstanding. We had Paul as our server, and he was so attentive and responsive. The food was fantastic, especially the the rigatoni vodka pasta which was delicious. Paul made fantastic drinks for us. We asked for a recommendation and Paul served us right with what I liked and made a fabulous mango martini. And as for the whole night the view was perfect, my friends and I even got to take such cute pictures with the sunset and water in the background. Our server Paul even offered to take a group picture of all of us. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience!!!!
Il Fornaio in Beverly Hills permanently changed the way I viewed pasta (and turned me into a pasta snob) so I was super excited to see they had a location in Coronado as well. I ordered the same dish and while it wasn’t as good as it was in Beverly Hills, the service and atmosphere were fab. Calamari was fresh and crisp and the wine was incredible.
