Captain James was fantastic. He did an amazing job with my three boys—super patient, encouraging, and great at keeping them engaged the whole trip. Within minutes of arriving at a canal on Sanibel Island, he had us on the sheepshead, which was a blast. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the area and took the time to explain why certain species weren’t biting due to the recent cold spell, which we really appreciated. He was always prepared, constantly putting out fresh bait, and staying on top of everything. The 4-hour trip absolutely flew by. We had a great experience and would 100% book with Captain James again.

We reeled in mangrove snapper, battled sharks, and hooked into tarpon! The rods stayed bent, the laughs never stopped, and Captain James knew exactly where to put us on the fish. Professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to making sure everyone has an amazing time. Don’t read any more reviews and book Goodman Charters! I’ve been on lot of charters from the keys to the panhandle and if you go with Captain James you won’t be disappointed. We had 4 people and we caught fish all day. King Mackerel, cobia, snapper, grouper, and a few other species. We hooked up with a number of permit, but just didn’t land them. My daughter got to fight a very large bull shark (Captain James thought it might have gone 200#) for a while, which was fun to watch! We had a blast the whole day. This was one of the best charters I’ve done and Captain James knows what he’s doing and took care of everything and made sure we were catching fish. I give him a 10/10.
Had an absolutely awesome time with captain James! Couldn’t be more happy with our fishing. He was very laid back and knowledgeable. He was really good with my 7yo son. He didn’t relax the entire time, he was non stop rebaiting our hooks, untangling our lines, getting our fish off our hooks… was a ton of fun and we were regularly catching fish the whole time.
We had an amazing day on the water! Boat was great and Captain James put us on the fish all day. We caught 8 different species to include Tarpon (target species) I would highly recommend Goodman Charters!
