I made a reservation for the newly opened Din Tai Fung in Downtown Disney and went there today for some Xiao Long Bao! Since the only available reservation was early in the morning, we headed in at 10:45 AM. The restaurant was impressively large and very clean. For drinks, we ordered the Sea Salt Cream Iced Tea, and for sides, we got the Cucumber Salad and Bok Choy with Scallion-Infused Oil. For the main dishes, we had the Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Crab & Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Noodles with Sesame Sauce, Pan-Fried Pork Potstickers, and the Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup. Maybe it’s because it’s been a while since I last had it, but everything tasted absolutely amazing! The bok choy was cooked to perfection—the texture of the vegetable paired beautifully with the flavor of the scallion oil. As for the Xiao Long Bao, I placed one on my spoon, tore it open slightly to let the broth out, topped it with ginger, and took a bite. It was delicious as expected! The Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup was also wonderful, especially when sipping the savory broth with the wontons. The server was very friendly, and they even validated our parking when we paid the bill. It was a truly delightful and delicious meal!
We had a wonderful experience with Din Tai Fung in Downtown Disney! Since it’s located inside Downtown Disney, you’ll need to go through the security screening before getting there, so be sure to allow a little extra time. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and every employee we interacted with was welcoming, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. We ordered takeout, and the pickup process was smooth and efficient. Although we didn’t dine inside this visit, the restaurant looked gorgeous, and we’d definitely love to eat there next time. Our meal was outstanding! We ordered the Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), sliced chicken noodle soup, noodles with spicy sauce, Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons, and Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The soup dumplings lived up to the hype, the chicken noodle soup was comforting, the spicy noodles and wontons had just the right amount of heat and amazing flavor, and the Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao truly had happiness in every bite. The best part was taking our dinner back to the hotel and enjoying it while watching the Disneyland fireworks from our balcony. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable day. Whether you dine in or order takeout, Din Tai Fung is absolutely worth the visit. We can’t wait to come back!
OMG! I don't even know where to start on how amazing this restaurant is. Being a vegetarian, it is hard finding good authentic Asian food but this has set the bar way too high. I went with my cousins and sister in December and everything was just wow. Starting from the cucumber salad and string beans, to the vegan wontons and buns, to the spicy vegan noodles, to the Chocolate Mochi Xiao Long Bao with sea salt cream, all the food was incredibly good. I am waiting for it to come to my area because I would be a regular. I am someone who eats very little food but this place made me finish every single morsel on my plate. My favorites had to be the cucumber salad, the spicy vegan wontons and obviously the chocolate dumplings. This place is a 200/10 and I recommend it to anyone who has a Din Tai Fung near them.
Worth the hype. Came for lunch and was able to find reservations the day prior. Service was quick and the flavors were wonderful. Very kid friendly. They made sure to have suction-cup plates and plastic utensils for the kids. Our kids absolutely loved the dumplings. Don't forget to try the chocolate ones with the sea salt cream! A little pricey but worth a splurge!
I am very late for this review since I enjoyed this location in Nov of last year. However, I mainly wanted to rate the service and wanted to make sure they received it even being late to post. For starters though, the food was delicious! Unfortunately I don’t remember the names of everything I got however I did try one of the soup dumplings and a noodle. I got one of the milk teas as well as a cocktail (believe the Lychee). All of these were something I would order again. Well made, temperature spot on & overall enjoyable. Another thing to make note of was being seated within ten mins. I will include I was a table of one, sat at the bar and came a little after they opened though I will say the place was full. However, what I find to be most of note. The staff at the bar Anthony, Skylr, Mari & Isaac. As well as Ricky on the other side of the bar. They were wonderful. The manager Mike was onlooking from the side as well. They were polite, composed and helped one another. They didn’t have to ask to be helped, they just worked together automatically very in sink with each other. They didn’t bombard me while still checking on me regularly. They talked with each other (about work things not just absently) without ignoring customers and giving great service. When my chocolate Bao (which I was recommended & would highly recommend) was taking awhile to arrive they checked on me (without my initiation), let me know they would figure out what was going on and kept me updated without overwhelming the situation but letting me know I wasn’t being ignored either. Though I don’t think work ethic is based on age I think finding younger staff this capable who all seemed to enjoy work and working together while creating an atmosphere inviting, enjoyable & tasty was impressive. I think this is in part to management and training while also them individually. Overall, I would love to come here again when I’m in the area and hope these staff members are the ones who are assigned to my table.
