This will be #202 in my search for the perfect pizza. Calogero's has a NY style crust and a Neapolitan crust. We tried the NY sausage pizza, garlic knots, and Maritozzo. Nice undercarriage to the crust and a nice crisp as well but the hydration ratios were just off. The crust had no chew whatsoever. NY style pizza is known for that chew. A decent sauce but something came off tart, either the sauce or from the sausage, I couldn't tell. The crumble sausage tasted like an Italian sausage but I'm not a fan of the crumble sausage and this one ruined the pie. Scant cheese just left the proportions off. The garlic knots were made from the same crispy dry dough and could have used a dipping sauce (the employee said it does not come with a dipping sauce). The whipped cream to the Maritozzo was fantastic but the dough was hard and stale as if it was sitting out for a couple of days. The website says this is an Italian restaurant but this is just a pickup pizza joint in a mall with 4 tables.

This place is authentic and delicious! Everything here is great and they bake a wonderful semolina bread as well. I was yearning for great pizza since I moved here and I finally found it! They also make fresh baked goods including seasonal panettone and Colomba breads.

Are you craving REAL NY style pizza? Well look no further this is the real deal. I grew up in NY with 3 pizza parlors within walking distance under the 'A' train el. They were all owned by Italian immigrants. If you appreciate a crust that's both crisp and foldable than you will love this pizza. Perfect balance of sauce and cheese. I saw a reviewer gave it one star, and they gave Lou Malnati's deep dish 5 stars. They obviously don't get and maybe never had NY pizza. Pastries are also made fresh daily. I had a Bombolino filled with pastry cream. Chocolate and berry were also available the day I went as well as beautiful Cornetto with pistachio cream. I also get the arugula salad, simply dressed with tomatoes and shaved Parmesan. It's my favorite pizza after moving here in 2020 and searching for REAL NY PIZZA

I seen Calogero's review by, " the_sandwich_don " on Instagram and had to try it. Let me tell you, It didn't disappoint!!! My wife and I went there on Valentines Day and ordered what you see in the pictures, everything was very authentic and had great flavor. The only complaint was he was out of, "Italian Fennel Sausage" so I couldn't try the "Salsiccia" pizza. We will definitely be back to try more things like his baked goods. I highly recommend trying it. As for the Neapolitan Syle pizza I give it a "8.2".

Had to head out to Naperville to grab my truck from the shop and decided we wanted Italian food for lunch. Quick search and found Calogero's close by with a good rating here on Google. Walked in and the place was mostly kitchen with only seating for maybe 10-12. Menu gave a perfect amount of choices in my opinion. We ordered the Bruschetta, hands down best ive had ever. Thank you chef! Then the Mortadella pizza, perfectly cooked and the flavors all danced together really well. We made it home with a couple slices left and reheated them in a dry pan with a lid on. We topped it with some arugula then were sad we ran out of pizza. Oh dont sleep on the cannoli. We had the pistachio, again fantastic. Grabbed a couple doughnuts (bomboloni) and a fresh loaf of bread on the way out... I hate that I keep finding places so far from home but I am absolutely thrilled with my experience and will be sending friends to check it out. Keep up the great work... we will be back!
